Our Mission

The Joliet Catholic Diocese Committee on Scouting (JDCCS) gives guidance, direction, leadership, and vitality in the spiritual phase of scouting to all Catholic scouts and scouters in the diocese, whether in parish-supported units or units unaffiliated with a Catholic organizations.

The Committee serves Catholic Scouts in all scouting groups, including:

  • Camp Fire USA

  •  Girl Scouts USA,

  • Other Catholic Youth Groups

The Committee is dedicated to promoting 'Duty to God' at each level of Scouting. Members serve under the authority of the Diocese of Joliet Office of Christian Formation. We are affiliated with the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, (NCCS), an advisory to the Boy Scouts of America, and associated with the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire, (NCCGSCF), and the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, (NFCYM)

Our goals and objectives are:

Throughout the year we also provide training for Religious Recognitions Advisers and provide scholarships for the St. George trek at Philmont. We are able to accomplish these events with the help of many dedicated leaders who  donate their time and energy to provide quality programs.
